Meet Your Doula

Hola! I’m Lis Pimentel, a full-spectrum doula supporting families in Greater Boston across every stage of their reproductive journey, from conception through birth, and beyond. My work is rooted in the belief that no one should feel alone in their reproductive experiences, that your voice matters, and that you deserve to take up space. I offer practical, heart-centered care through education, advocacy, and emotional support, helping families navigate overwhelming medical systems, understand their options, and feel safe, seen, and empowered during one of the most vulnerable and transformative times of their lives.

My Inspiration

My great-great-grandmother, Doña Milin, was a midwife of the pueblo of Baní, Peravia, in mid 20th-century Dominican Republic. It’s said that when Doña Milin went out to attend a childbirth, she would exclaim, “San Ramón, I’m going with you” and the family members would say, “May San Ramón bring her through safely!” Saint Raymond is the patron saint of childbirth, midwives, children, and pregnant women, and my grandmother often turned to her spirituality for guidance. As a birthworker and healer, my grandmother was deeply trusted by her community for her skilled care and holistic remedies. The knowledge, guidance, and healing practices she carried have been passed down through generations, and I now look to my grandmother’s wisdom to guide my work as a birthworker.
